The championship series was tied after defending champion San Diego Skates romped in game one and then Breckenridge Vipers pulled out a win in game two. With the MWHL Cup on the line, the Sierra and Rocky division champions met for the third and final time at Sobe Arena in Las Vegas in a game that would come down to the wire.
