Stampede in Stockton

The MWHL’s newest club, the Stockton Stampede, recently started practices at the newly renovated Oak Park Ice Arena in preparation for the upcoming season. The Stampede will fill a void left when the area’s previous MWHL club, West Coast Seals, ceased operations in 2019.

The Stampede has announced several high profile roster signings including Luke Richesin of the Great Falls Americans and Aquinas College, Sam Shyesteh of the San Jose State Spartans, Jeff Sanders of the Macon Mahem (SPHL), and Jeff Dill of the Waterton Privateers (FHL). The addition of these players is expected to help the Stampede as they face-off against tough regional rivals including Reno Ice Raiders and Santa Rosa Growlers.

The Stampede will visit the Reno Ice Raiders on Saturday July 10 for an exhibition game. It will be the Ice Raiders’ first game in their new home, the Jennifer M. O’Neal Community Ice Arena. The Stampede will be looking forward to playing their first home game at the recently updated Oak Park Ice Arena. The floor and ice surface, as well as boards and glass of the venerable old arena have been replaced. The Stampede is expected to announce its home schedule soon.

The Stockton Stampede at Reno Ice Raiders: Jennifer M. O’Neal Community Ice Arena at 7:15 PM on Saturday July 10. For more information, visit https://www.renoiceraiders.com/.
