Defending champion Norcal Ice Raiders overcame an early two-goal deficit to defeat the Breckenridge Vipers 5-2 in game one of the MWHL Cup Finals at City National Arena in Las Vegas. The Vipers arrived for game two seeking to draw even and force a game three. The Ice Raiders, meanwhile, were intent on sweeping their way to their second consecutive championship.
